WHAT will you learn?

  • How to utilize data to identify program strengths and areas that need improvement
  • What is the learning community approach to professional development?
  • How to develop an action plan that includes the considerations for establishing a learning community in the local program
  • How to target strategies to strengthen teachers' knowledge about curriculum, assessment and instructional standards and the use of data to inform instruction
  • What are the latest technology tools for online communication and sharing?

Professional Development Format

This professional development program will utilize a combination of four face-to-face training sessions interspersed with online technology communication and sharing tools (e.g. wiki, googledocs, moodle, etc.). All participants are expected to participate in the entire professional development program.

  • Thursday, March 4, 2010, 9 AM to 3:30 PM, Bristol Adult Education
  • Thursday, June 3, 2010, 9 AM to 3:30 PM, Bristol Adult Education

WHO should attend?

Director, Program Facilitator, lead teacher, data entry staff, computer tech staff, or any staff member who possesses skills pertinent to achieving your identified goals.

WHAT to bring?

ED 241 (2009), Program Profile reports for past 3-4 years, Provider Performance Summary for past 4 years (LAPTOP-optional, but recommended)

WHAT skills are required?

All programs will be at different levels.  While computer skills with Excel are advantageous & proficiency using Internet & e-mail is encouraged, there is no specific skill set.  A survey will be sent to confirm baseline skills & mainstream the direction of the first PD.

Technology CEUs provided by CAACE, upon completion of PLC project sessions.
